The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the night as it veils [the earth] in darkness, 1 And by the day as it appears in brightness; 2 and by the creation of the male and the female. 3 you strive in various ways. 4 As for one who gives [to others] and fears [God], 5 and confirms the reward most fair, 6 So We will very soon provide him ease. 7 But as for him who is a miser, and self-sufficient, 8 And denies the best [reward], 9 For him We shall ease the way of adversity, 10 When he falls (into Hell), his wealth will not help him. 11 It is indeed for Us to show the way, 12 And indeed the Hereafter and this world both belong to Us. 13 Therefore do I warn you of a Fire blazing fiercely; 14 whereat none but the most wretched shall be roasted, 15 who denied [the truth], and turned away. 16 But those most devoted to Allah shall be removed far from it,- 17 one who gives his wealth to become purified, 18 And no one has done a favour to him, for which he should be compensated. 19 Except only the desire to seek the Countenance of his Lord, the Most High; 20 And presently he shall become well pleased. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
