In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Read! In the Name of your Lord, Who has created (all that exists), 1 created Man of a blood-clot. 2 Read: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 who taught by the Pen, 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Yet man behaves arrogantly, 6 That he thinketh himself independent! 7 for, behold, unto thy Sustainer all must return. 8 Hast thou seen him who dissuadeth 9 a servant when he prays -- 10 Have you seen if he is upon guidance 11 or is concerned with God-consciousness? 12 Seest thou if he denies (Truth) and turns away? 13 Did he not realise that Allah is watching? 14 Let him beware! If he desist not, We will drag him by the forelock,- 15 A lying, sinning forelock. 16 So let him call his associates, 17 We too would summon the braves of the army. 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19
