The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. 2 Created man, 3 Taught him the mode of expression. 4 The sun and the moon run on their fixed courses (exactly) calculated with measured out stages for each (for reckoning, etc.). 5 And the herbs (or stars) and the trees both prostrate. 6 and heaven -- He raised it up, and set the Balance. 7 In order that you may not corrupt the balance. 8 Therefore, maintain just measure and do not transgress against the Balance. 9 And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures. 10 In which are fruits, and covered dates. 11 Also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 13 He created man of clay like, unto pottery. 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 18 He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together: 19 Whereas there is a barrier between them so they cannot encroach upon one another. 20 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 21 Out of them both come out pearl and coral. 22 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 23 By His command, the ships with raised masts sail on the sea like mountains. 24 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 25
