Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 So when vision is dazzled 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 No! There is no refuge. 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 And how many faces on that Day will be woe-begone 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 And it is cried. who can charm? 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 To your Lord on that day shall be the driving. 30
