Pray, “My Lord! If You show me the promise they are given,” 93 "Then, O my Lord! put me not amongst the people who do wrong!" 94 We have the Power to strike them with torment before your very eyes. 95 Repel evil with that which is better. We are Best Aware of that which they allege. 96 and say, "My Lord, I seek refuge with You from the prompting of the devils. 97 I seek refuge with You, Lord, lest they should come near me." 98 Until, when death cometh unto one of them, he saith: My Lord! Send me back, 99 That I may do right in that which I have left behind! But nay! It is but a word that he speaketh; and behind them is a barrier until the day when they are raised. 100 Then when the Trumpet is blown there will be no lineage among them that Day, nor will they ask of each other. 101 And those whose scales are heavy [with good deeds] - it is they who are the successful. 102 whereas they whose weight is light in the balance - it is they who will have squandered their own selves, [destined] to abide in hell: 103 The fire burneth their faces, and they are glum therein. 104 "Were not My Signs rehearsed to you, and ye did but treat them as falsehood?" 105 They shall say, 'Our Lord, our adversity prevailed over us; we were an erring people. 106 O our Sustainer! Cause us to come out of this [suffering] - and then, if ever We revert [to sinning,] may we truly be [deemed] evildoers!" 107 Allah will say: "Away from Me; stay where you are and do not address Me. 108 Indeed, there was a party of My servants who said, 'Our Lord, we have believed, so forgive us and have mercy upon us, and You are the best of the merciful.' 109 But you took them for a laughingstock, so much so that they made you forget My Remembrance while you used to laugh at them! 110 Today I shall recompense them for their patience, for it is they that have won. 111 He will say: How long tarried ye in the earth, counting by years? 112 They will say: "We stayed a day or part of a day. Ask of those who keep account." 113 He will say: ye tarried a little indeed; would that ye had known that. 114 What! did you then think that We had created you in vain and that you shall not be returned to Us? 115 So Exalted be Allah, the True King, La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), the Lord of the Supreme Throne! 116 And whoever invokes with Allah another god-- he has no proof of this-- his reckoning is only with his Lord; surely the unbelievers shall not be successful. 117 And say: 'My Lord, forgive and have mercy, for You are the Best of the merciful' 118
