He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and then turned away 1 Because the blind man came unto him. 2 But what would make you perceive, [O Muhammad], that perhaps he might be purified 3 or have been reminded [of the truth,] and helped by this reminder. 4 As for he who is sufficed 5 Unto him thou attendest. 6 And you have nothing to lose if he does not become pure. 7 And for him who came to you striving, 8 And hath fear, 9 Of him you are neglectful and divert your attention to another, 10 Nay, but verily it is an Admonishment, 11 and whosoever wills, shall remember it. 12 Inscribed in Writs honoured, 13 Exalted and purified, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 Noble and pious. 16 Woe to man! What hath made him reject Allah; 17 From what substance did He create him? 18 Of a sperm-drop He created him, and determined him, 19 Then He eased the way for him; 20 Then He causes him to die, then assigns to him a grave, 21 Then He will raise him up again when He please. 22 No indeed! Man has not accomplished His bidding. 23 Let man look at his food: 24 We poured water, pouring it in great abundance, 25 then We split the earth in fissures 26 to yield therein corn, 27 And grapes and green fodder 28 and olive trees and date-palms, 29 and dense orchards, 30 and fruits and fodder 31 [As] enjoyment for you and your grazing livestock. 32 At length, when there comes the Deafening Noise,- 33 on that Day a man shall flee from his own brother, 34 and from his mother and father, 35 wife and sons, 36 Every man that day will have concern enough to make him heedless (of others). 37 Some faces on that day shall shine 38 Laughing and full of joy, 39 Some faces on that Day shall be dust-ridden, 40 enveloped by darkness. 41 These will be the faces of the sinful disbelievers. 42
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
