Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 And when the seas rise, 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
