The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 Hath made known the Qur'an. 2 He created the human being 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and the moon move according to a fixed reckoning; 5 And the herbs and the trees do obeisance. 6 And Allah has raised the sky; and He has set the balance. 7 so that you would maintain justice. 8 Give just weight and do not skimp the scales. 9 It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures: 10 There are fruits of all kinds on it, and date-palms with their clusters sheathed, 11 and grain in the blade, and fragrant herbs. 12 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 13 He has created man, from dry ringing clay, like the potter"s, 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, Lord of the two Wests. 17 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 18 He has made the two oceans meet each other, 19 Between them is a barrier [so] neither of them transgresses. 20 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 21 Out of them both come out pearl and coral. 22 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 23 And His are the ships going and coming in the seas, like mountains. 24 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 25

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
