The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Prosperous are the believers 1 Who are humble in their prayers, 2 And they who turn away from ill speech 3 pay their religious tax 4 And those who of their private parts are guards. 5 save from their wives and what their right hands own then being not blameworthy 6 But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors - 7 And they who are to their trusts and their promises attentive 8 And those who keep a guard on their prayers; 9 Those are the inheritors 10 These are the heirs of Paradise wherein they will live forever. 11 Indeed We created man from a chosen soil. 12 Then We placed him as (a drop of) sperm in a place of rest, firmly fixed; 13 then We created of the drop a clot then We created of the clot a tissue then We created of the tissue bones then We garmented the bones in flesh; thereafter We produced him as another creature. So blessed be God, the fairest of creators! 14 After that, at length ye will die 15 Then indeed you, on the Day of Resurrection, will be resurrected. 16 And We have created above you seven paths, and We are never unmindful of creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in due measure, and lodged it in the earth, and We are able to take it all away. 18 With it, We produced for you gardens of palms and vines, yielding abundant fruit for you to eat. 19 And [We brought forth] a tree issuing from Mount Sinai which produces oil and food for those who eat. 20 And Verily! In the cattle there is indeed a lesson for you. We give you to drink (milk) of that which is in their bellies. And there are, in them, numerous (other) benefits for you, and of them you eat. 21 And on them and on the ship ye are carried. 22
