He Frowned ('Abasa)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ HE FROWNED and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man (interrupting). 2 How could you know? Perhaps he would cleanse himself, 3 Or take heed and so the reminder might avail him? 4 As for him who was indifferent, 5 To him dost thou attend; 6 Yet it is not thy concern if he grow not (in grace). 7 But as for him who cometh unto thee with earnest purpose 8 And with fear (in his heart), 9 From him will you divert yourself. 10 Nay, (do not do like this), indeed it (these Verses of this Quran) are an admonition, 11 So let him who pleases mind it. 12 It is contained in scrolls highly honoured, 13 Exalted (in dignity), purified, 14 In the hands of scribes 15 Honourable and Pious and Just. 16 Be cursed (the disbelieving) man! How ungrateful he is! 17 From what did He create him? 18 From a sperm-drop: He hath created him, and then mouldeth him in due proportions; 19 and made the path of guidance easy for him to follow. 20 then makes him to die, and buries him, 21 Then when He wills, He will resurrect him. 22 Nay, but man did not fulfil what Allah had enjoined upon him. 23 Let man therefore consider (the sources of) his food. 24 It is We Who pour forth water, pouring, 25 and let the earth to break open 26 Thereby produced grain in it. 27 And Grapes and nutritious plants, 28 and olive trees and date-palms, 29 And enclosed gardens luxuriant. 30 and fruits, and pastures, 31 for you and for your animals to enjoy. 32 But, when the Blast comes, 33 The day on which a man shall fly from his brother, 34 Mother and father, 35 wife and sons, 36 Every man of them shall on that day have an affair which will occupy him. 37 Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 38 and be cheerful and joyous. 39 And many will be dust-begrimed, 40 Darkness shall cover them. 41 It is they, the disbelievers, the sinners. 42
