Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 Many a face will be disgraced on that day. 2 be toiling and worn-out; 3 about to enter a glowing fire, 4 They will be given drink from a boiling spring. 5 they shall have no food but thorns, 6 which gives no strength and neither stills hunger. 7 In that day other faces will be calm, 8 well pleased with their striving, 9 In a lofty garden, 10 Wherein you shall not hear vain talk. 11 In it is a flowing spring. 12 therein uplifted couches 13 And cups set at hand. 14 Cushions arranged, 15 And linen spread out. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 And at the Sky, how it is raised high?- 18 And the mountains, how they were fixed; 19 And at the Earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore advise; indeed you are a proclaimer of advice. (The Holy Prophet is a Remembrance from Allah.) 21 You are not a warden over them, 22 But whoever turns back and disbelieves, 23 Allah will chastise him with the most terrible chastisement. 24 for behold, unto Us will be their return, 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
