Al-Taareq

The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 It is the piercing star - 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 it is not a jest. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
