Said Firaun to the court members around him, “He is indeed an expert magician.” 34 who desires to expel you from your land by his sorcery; what do you command?' 35 They answered: "Let him and his brother wait a while, and send unto all cities heralds 36 to bring thee every cunning sorcerer. 37 So the sorcerers were got together for the appointment of a day well-known, 38 And it was said to the people, “Have you (also) gathered?” 39 in order that we shall follow the sorcerers if they are the victors' 40 Then when the magicians came, they said unto Fir'awn: will there surely be a big hire for us if we are the winners? 41 He said: "Yes, you will then become those near-stationed to me." 42 (Moses) asked the magicians, "Cast down what you want to". 43 So they cast down their ropes and staffs saying, "By the honor of the Pharaoh we shall certainly become the winners". 44 Then Moses threw his staff, and at once it devoured what they falsified. 45 The magicians therefore fell down prostrate. 46 saying: 'We believe in the Lord of the Worlds, 47 "The Lord of Musa (Moses) and Harun (Aaron)." 48 He (Pharaoh) said: 'You have believed him before I have given you permission. He is the chief of you who has taught you sorcery. But you shall know. I will surely cut off on opposite sides a hand and a foot, and crucify you all.' 49 They said: No harm; surely to our Lord we go back; 50 "Verily! We really hope that our Lord will forgive us our sins, as we are the first of the believers [in Musa (Moses) and in the Monotheism which he has brought from Allah]." 51
