۞ [And God will thus command:] "Assemble all those who were bent on evildoing, together with others of their ilk and [with] all that they were wont to worship 22 instead of God, and lead them all onto the way to the blazing fire, 23 And stop them; indeed, they are to be questioned." 24 What aileth you that ye succour not one another? 25 Nay! on that Day they will be entirely submissive. 26 And some of them will confront the others, 27 They will say, "You used to come at us from the right." 28 They will reply: "Nay, ye yourselves had no Faith! 29 We had no power over you. You were a rebellious people, 30 The statement of Our Lord is realized against us, and we are tasting it, 31 Thus we misled you. Lo! we were (ourselves) astray. 32 So this day they all are partners in the punishment. 33 Verily We! in this wise We deal with the culprits. 34 Surely they used to behave proudly when it was said to them: There is no god but Allah; 35 And they said: are we going to abandon our gods on account of a poet distracted? 36 In fact, he had brought them the truth and had acknowledged the Messengers (who were sent before him). 37 “You surely have to taste the painful punishment.” 38 And you will be requited nothing except for what you used to do (evil deeds, sins, and Allah's disobedience which you used to do in this world); 39 But for the sincere worshipers of Allah, 40 For them there is a known provision, 41 Fruits; and they will be honored 42 In the Gardens of delight, 43 Facing each other on Thrones (of Dignity): 44 A drink will be passed round among them from a flowing spring: 45 Clear, delicious to drink, 46 there is neither sickness in it, nor intoxication. 47 And with them shall be those who restrain the eyes, having beautiful eyes; 48 who are as chaste as sheltered eggs. 49 They will go to one another asking each other questions. 50 A speaker of them saith: Lo! I had a comrade 51 Who said: What! are you indeed of those who accept (the truth)? 52 after we die and become dust and bones, we shall be brought to judgement?'" 53 He will say: -- Do you wish to know where he is now?' 54 and then he looks and sees that [companion of his] in the midst of the blazing fire, 55 He will say to him: -- By Allah, you almost ruined me. 56 “And were it not for the munificence of my Lord, I too would have been seized and brought forth (captive)!” 57 So, are we not going to die, 58 "Except our first death, and we shall not be punished? (after we have entered Paradise)." 59 Verily this is the supreme achievement! 60 and for the like of this let the workers work. 61 Is this better as an entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 Verily, We have caused it to be a trial for evildoers: 63 Verily it is a tree that springeth forth in the bottom of Flaming Fire. 64 Its crop is as it were the heads of devils 65 Truly they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 On top of it they shall have a brew of boiling water, 67 And once again: Verily, the blazing fire is their ultimate goal 68 They found their fathers had gone astray; 69 so they are rushing to follow in their footsteps. 70 Most of the ancient people had also gone astray. 71 We had certainly sent warners to them. 72 Then see how was the end of those warned, 73 Only Our sincere servants were saved. 74
