The people of Lut denied the Noble Messengers. 160 Their brother Lot asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 161 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 162 so fear you God, and obey you me. 163 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 164 Do you, of all people, approach males, 165 Leaving the consorts your Lord has made for you? But you are a people who exceed the bounds." 166 They said, "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will surely be of those evicted." 167 He said, "I am one of those who abhors your ways. 168 My Lord, save me and my family from [the consequence of] what they do." 169 We therefore rescued him and his entire family. 170 Except an old woman who lingered behind. 171 We destroyed the others 172 We rained down on them a shower (of brimstone): and evil was the shower on those who were admonished (but heeded not)! 173 Verily in this was a sign, but most of them do not believe. 174 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 175
