The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Beneficent 1 Taught the Qur'an, 2 Has created Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) as the soul of mankind. 3 He taught him eloquent speech. 4 The sun and moon rotate in a predestined orbit. 5 The stars and the trees prostrate. 6 and He has raised up the heaven and has set a balance 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 And observe the weight with equity, and make not deficient the balance. 9 He has laid out the earth for His creatures. 10 Therein are fruits and palm trees with sheaths, 11 Husked grain and scented herb. 12 Which of the bounties of your Lord will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 13 He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery, 14 and He created the jinns from a flame of fire. 15 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 16 [He is] the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunrise, and the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunset. 17 Which of the powers of your Lord will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 18 He hath loosed the two seas. They meet. 19 There is a barrier between them. They encroach not (one upon the other). 20 Which of the wonders of your Lord will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 21 Pearls and corals come from both. 22 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 23 By His command, the ships with raised masts sail on the sea like mountains. 24 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 25
