The people of Lot denied the messengers 160 When their fellowman Lut said to them, “Do you not fear?” 161 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 162 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 164 "Go you in unto the males of the 'Alamin (mankind), 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? No, but you are a transgressing nation' 166 They said, "Lot, if you do not give up preaching, you will certainly be expelled (from this town)". 167 He said, "Indeed, I am, toward your deed, of those who detest [it]. 168 My Lord, save me and my family from [the consequence of] what they do." 169 We therefore rescued him and his entire family. 170 except for an old woman who stayed behind, 171 then We totally destroyed the rest, 172 and We rained on them a rain; and evil is the rain of them that are warned. 173 Surely, in that there is a sign. Yet most of them do not believe. 174 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
