Relate the news of Abraham to them. 69 When he said unto his father and his people: what worship ye? 70 They said: We worship idols, and are ever devoted unto them. 71 He said: "Do they listen to you when ye call (on them)?" 72 or can they benefit or harm you?" 73 They said: "Nay, but we found our fathers doing thus (what we do)." 74 (Abraham) said, "Do you know that what you worship 75 You and your fathers? 76 “They are all my enemies, except the Lord Of The Creation.” 77 Who hath created me, and He guideth me. 78 "Who gives me food and drink, 79 And when I sicken, then He healeth me, 80 and who will cause me to die and then will bring me back to life 81 And Who, I hope, will forgive me my mistakes on the day of judgment. 82 My Lord, give me judgment, and join me with the righteous. 83 And appoint me a tongue of truthfulness among the latter. 84 And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Delight, 85 And forgive my father, verily he is of the erring; 86 and do not put me to shame on the Day when all shall be raised from the dead: 87 The Day whereon will profit neither substance nor sons. 88 "But only he (will prosper) that brings to Allah a sound heart; 89 and Paradise shall be brought forward to the cautious. 90 And the (Hell) Fire will be placed in full view of the erring. 91 And it will be said to them: "Where are those (the false gods whom you used to set up as rivals with Allah) that you used to worship 92 Other than God? Can they save you or even save themselves?" 93 Thereupon they will be hurled into hell - they, as well as all [others] who had been lost in grievous error, 94 and the hosts of iblis all together. 95 They shall say while they contend therein: 96 they will say, "By God, we were in clear error 97 When we made you equal to the Lord of the worlds; 98 And none has brought us into error except the Mujrimun [Iblis (Satan) and those of human beings who commit crimes, murderers, polytheists, oppressors, etc.]. 99 Now we have no intercessors 100 Nor a true friend; 101 Then if we only had a return [to the world] and could be of the believers... " 102 Verily there is a sign in this, but many of them do not believe. 103 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 104
