We shall make satan the companion of whoever ignores the remembrance of the Beneficent God. 36 And verily, they (Satans / devils) hinder them from the Path (of Allah), but they think that they are guided aright! 37 At length, when (such a one) comes to Us, he says (to his evil companion): "Would that between me and thee were the distance of East and West!" Ah! evil is the companion (indeed)! 38 It shall not profit you today, since you did evil, that you are partners in the chastisement. 39 Can you (O Muhammad SAW) make the deaf to hear, or can you guide the blind or him who is in manifest error? 40 We shall inflict retribution on them, whether We take you away from the world (before We do that), 41 Or if We shew thee that wherewith We threaten them, verily We are going to prevail over them. 42 So hold you (O Muhammad SAW) fast to that which is inspired in you. Verily, you are on a Straight Path. 43 Verily it is a great source of eminence for you and your people, and soon you will be called to account concerning that. 44 Yet [above all else,] ask any of Our apostles whom We sent forth before thy time whether We have ever allowed that deities other than the Most Gracious be worshipped! 45
