The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man see from what he is created! 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
