The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 And when souls are united, 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 The closing night, 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
