Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon are joined, 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back. 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 Though he puts forth his excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 Then Ours it is to explain it. 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?" 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
