The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 And the second followeth it, 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
