Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace

By the white forenoon 1 By the night when it darkeneth, 2 Your Lord has not forsaken you nor does He dislike you! 3 Indeed what is to come will be better for you than what has gone by. 4 And indeed your Lord will soon give you so much that you will be pleased. (Allah seeks to please the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 5 Found He not thee an orphan, so He sheltered thee? 6 Did He not find you perplexed, and show you the way? 7 And did He not find you in want, and then enriched you? 8 Therefore, the orphan shalt thou never wrong, 9 And do not drive the beggar away, 10 and of thy Sustainer's blessings shalt thou [ever] speak. 11
