The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those (angels) ranged in ranks (or rows). 1 And by oath of those who herd with a stern warning. 2 And those who read (the Word) for a reminder, 3 Verily, most surely, your God is One 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them – and the Lord of the sun’s rising points. 5 We have indeed adorned the lowest heaven with stars as ornaments. 6 And as protection against every rebellious devil 7 They cannot listen to the Highest Chiefs for they are pelted from every side, 8 Repulsed, for they are under a perpetual penalty, 9 Except him who snatcheth away a word by stealth, and him then pursueth a glowing flame. 10 So ask them if they are more difficult to create, or the rest We have created? Indeed (man) We created from fermented clay. 11 No, you marvel, while they scoff. 12 And they do not understand, when explained to. 13 And seek to scoff when they behold a portent. 14 and they say, 'This is nothing but manifest sorcery. 15 Is it ever possible that after we die and are reduced to dust and (a skeleton of) bones, we will be raised to life? 16 And our forefathers [as well]?" 17 You say: "Yes; and you will be lowly made." 18 It shall be but one shout, lo! they shall be staring. 19 They will say, "Woe to us! This is the Day of Reckoning." 20 This is the Day of Separation, which ye used to deny. 21
