The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The Most Merciful 1 Taught the Qur'an, 2 He has created man: 3 Has taught him the knowledge of the past and the future. 4 The sun and moon rotate in a predestined orbit. 5 And the plants and the trees prostrate (for Him). 6 He raised the sky and set the Balance 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance. 9 He positioned the earth for all the creatures: 10 On it are fruits and palm-trees with sheathed clusters [of dates], 11 And the grain with (its) husk and fragrance. 12 Which favors of your Lord will you both (humans and jinn) belie? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, and Lord of the two Wests! 17 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 18 He unleashed the two seas so that they merge together, 19 Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress: 20 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 21 From these seas come forth pearls and coral. 22 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 23 And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains: 24 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 25
