He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because there came unto him a blind man. 2 And what should teach thee? Perchance he would cleanse him, 3 Or that he might receive admonition, and the teaching might profit him? 4 As for he who is sufficed 5 Unto him thou attendest. 6 And no blame is on you if he would not purify himself 7 And he who comes to thee eagerly 8 and who has fear of God, 9 Of him wast thou unmindful. 10 These verses are a reminder 11 So whoso wills may give heed to it. 12 upon highly honored pages, 13 Exalted and holy, 14 In the hands of scribes 15 and angelic scribes. 16 Accursed be man! How stubbornly he denies the Truth. 17 From what stuff hath He created him? 18 From Nutfah (male and female semen drops) He created him, and then set him in due proportion; 19 He makes his path easy for him. 20 He will then send him to death and have him laid in the grave. 21 then, when He wills, He raises him. 22 Nay, but [man] has never yet fulfilled what He has enjoined upon him! 23 Let man reflect on the food he eats. 24 It is We Who pour forth water, pouring, 25 Then We split the earth properly. 26 We make the grain grow out of it, 27 and grape vines and vegetables, 28 And the olive and the palm, 29 and dense orchards, 30 and fruits, and pastures, 31 all this as a provision for you and your cattle. 32 Then when cometh the Deafening Cry 33 Man will fly from his brother, 34 and his mother and his father; 35 his wife and his sons: 36 every man that day shall have business to suffice him. 37 Many faces will that day be bright, 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 And many a face will be covered with dust on that day. 40 o'erspread with darkness -- 41 These will be the unbelievers, the wicked. 42
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
