Hizb 46
< random >
And indeed, Jonah was among the messengers. 139 Recall what time he ran away unto a laden ship. 140 So he shared (with them), but was of those who are cast off. 141 So the whale swallowed him, for he was blameworthy, 142 Had he not been one of those who struggled hard, 143 he would have lingered in its belly till the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ But We cast him forth on the naked shore in a state of sickness, 145 and We caused a pumpkin tree to grow over him. 146 Then We sent him unto a hundred thousand, or more, 147 And they came to believe; so We allowed them to enjoy the good things of life for an age. 148 Now ask them whether your Lord has daughters, whereas they have sons. 149 Or that have We created the angels as females, while they were present? 150 Now surely it is of their own lie that they say: 151 “Allah has begotten.” They are liars! 152 Does He prefer sons to daughters? 153 What aileth you? How judge ye? 154 Then will you not be reminded? 155 Do you have any clear authority for such claims? 156 Bring your Book, if you speak truly! 157 They claim that He has kinship with the jinn, yet the jinn themselves know that they will be produced before Him [for judgement]. 158 Purity is to Allah from the matters they fabricate. 159 except for God's sincere servants. 160 So surely you and what you worship, 161 can cause anyone to fall prey to your temptation 162 except those who are doomed to enter hell. 163 The angels say, "Each of us has an appointed place. 164 Verily, we (angels), we stand in rows for the prayers (as you Muslims stand in rows for your prayers); 165 "And we are verily those who declare (Allah's) glory!" 166 Even though they (unbelievers) say, 167 'If only we had a reminder from the ancients, 168 “We would certainly be the chosen bondmen of Allah.” 169 But (now that the Qur'an has come), they reject it: But soon will they know! 170 And Our word has already preceded for Our servants, the messengers, 171 That they verily would be made triumphant. 172 and that Our army will be triumphant. 173 Therefore turn away from them for some time. 174 And watch them and they shall see (the punishment)! 175 What! would they then hasten on Our chastisement? 176 But when it descends in their territory, then evil is the morning of those who were warned. 177 And turn thou aside from them for a season. 178 And watch, for they will soon see. 179 Exalted be your Lord, the Lord of Glory, above what they attribute to Him, 180 And Peace on the messengers! 181 and praise be to God, the Lord of all the Worlds. 182
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
