and We delivered the Children of Israel from the humbling chastisement, 30 From Fir'awn; verily he was haughty and of the extravagant. 31 And We certainly chose them by knowledge over [all] the worlds. 32 And sent them tokens to bring out the best in them. 33 Even then they say: 34 "There is nothing beyond our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 Bring us our fathers, if what you say is true' 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those before them? We destroyed them, [for] indeed, they were criminals. 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, for mere play, 38 We did not create them except in truth, but most of them do not know. 39 Truly, the Day of Decision is the appointed time for all of them, 40 The day when friend will help no friend in the least, nor will they be helped, 41 Except those upon whom Allah has mercy; indeed He only is the Most Honourable, the Most Merciful. 42
