The tree of al-Zaqqum 43 is food for the sinner. 44 Like murky oil, it boils within bellies 45 like the boiling of burning despair. 46 (It will be said of such sinners), "Seize them and drag them into the middle of hell. 47 Then pour unto their heads the boiling water to torment them". 48 [It will be said], "Taste! Indeed, you are the honored, the noble! 49 This is that concerning which you were doubting.' 50 Indeed the pious are in a place of peace. 51 amidst gardens and springs. 52 Dressed in fine silk and in rich brocade, they will face each other; 53 Even so (it will be). And We shall wed them unto fair ones with wide, lovely eyes. 54 They shall call therein for every fruit in security; 55 They will never taste death therein except the first death (of this world), and He will save them from the torment of the blazing Fire, 56 As a Bounty from thy Lord! that will be the supreme achievement! 57 THUS, THEN, [O Prophet,] have We made this [divine writ] easy to understand, in thine own [human] tongue, so that men might take it to heart. 58 So wait thou and watch; for they (too) are waiting. 59
