Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

The desire to have more of the worldly gains have pre-occupied you so much (that you have neglected remembring God), 1 even till you visit the tombs. 2 Nay, you will soon come to know; 3 Again lo! presently ye shall know. 4 Nay! If you knew with a sure knowledge (the end result of piling up, you would not have occupied yourselves in worldly things) 5 Indeed you will see hell. 6 In the end you will indeed, most surely, behold it with the eye of certainty: 7 Then, on that day, ye will be asked concerning pleasure. 8
