S (Saad)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Sad [These letters (Sad etc.) are one of the miracles of the Quran and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. By the Quran full of reminding. 1 But the Unbelievers (are steeped) in self-glory and Separatism. 2 How many generations before them did We destroy? In the end they cried (for mercy)- when there was no longer time for being saved! 3 And they were surprised that a Herald of Warning came to them from among themselves; and the disbelievers said, “He is a magician, a great liar!” 4 What, has he made the gods One God? This is indeed a wondrous thing' 5 The chiefs among them departed saying: go, and persevere in your gods; verily this is a thing designed. 6 We have heard nothing like this in the latest religion. This is only his own false invention. 7 Was the message sent only to him out of all of us?" In fact, they doubt My warning; in fact, they have not yet tasted My punishment. 8 Or are theirs the treasures of the mercy of thy Lord, the Mighty, the Bestower? 9 Or is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them theirs? Then let them ascend by ropes! 10 A defeated host are (all) the factions that are there. 11 To the truth gave the lie aforetime Noah's people, and [the tribe of] Ad, and Pharaoh of the [many] tent-poles, 12 and Thamood, and the people of Lot, and the men of the Thicket - those were the parties; 13 None of them was such that it did not deny the Noble Messengers, therefore My punishment became inevitable. 14
