The dwellers of the thicket gave the lie to the apostles. 176 Recall, when Shuayb said to them: "Have you no fear? 177 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 178 "So fear Allah and obey me. 179 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 180 ۞ “Measure in full, and do not be of those who reduce.” 181 Weigh on an even balance. 182 And do not deprive people of their due and do not commit abuse on earth, spreading corruption. 183 Fear Him who created you and those who have gone before you." 184 They said, "You are only of those affected by magic. 185 "Thou art no more than a mortal like us, and indeed we think thou art a liar! 186 Drop down on us lumps from heaven, if you are one of the truthful' 187 He said: "My Lord knows best what ye do." 188 And they denied him, so the punishment of the day of the black cloud seized them. Indeed, it was the punishment of a terrible day. 189 Verily in that is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 190 And most surely your Lord is Mighty, the Merciful. 191
