1/2 Hizb 33

۞ And indeed We bestowed Ibrahim with guidance from the beginning, and We were Aware of him. 51 Recall what time he said unto his father and his people: what are these images to which ye are cleaving? 52 They said, 'We found our fathers serving them.' 53 He said, “Indeed you all you and your forefathers were in open error.” 54 They asked: "Hast thou come unto us [with this claim] in all earnest - or art thou one of those jesters?" 55 He said, 'Nay, but your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth who originated them, and I am one of those that bear witness thereunto. 56 By Allah, I will certainly outwit your idols as soon as you have turned your backs and gone' 57 He broke them all into pieces, except for the biggest one of them, so that they might return to it [for enquiry]. 58 They asked (on return): "Who has done this to our gods? He is surely a mischief-monger." 59 Some said, "We heard a young man, called Abraham, talking about them." 60 They said, “Therefore bring him in front of the people, perhaps they may testify.” 61 They said: Have you done this to our gods, O Ibrahim? 62 He said: rather he hath wrought it, this big one of them; so question them, if they ever speak. 63 So they returned one to another, and they said, 'Surely it is you who are the evildoers.' 64 And they were utterly confounded, and they said: Well thou knowest that these speak not. 65 (So Abraham) said: "Then why do you worship something apart from God that cannot profit you or do you harm? 66 Fie on you and those you worship besides God! Will you not understand?" 67 They said: "Burn him and help your aliha (gods), if you will be doing." 68 'O Fire' We said, 'be coolness and safety for Abraham' 69 And they wanted to harm him, but We made them the worst losers. 70 And We rescued him and Lout (Lot) to the land which We have blessed for the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 71 And We bestowed upon him ls-haq and Ya qub as a grandson; and each one We made righteous. 72 and made them leaders who would guide [others] in accordance with Our behest: for We inspired them [with a will] to do good works, and to be constant in prayer, and to dispense charity: and Us [alone] did they worship. 73 And (as for) Lut, We gave him wisdom and knowledge, and We delivered him from the town which wrought abominations; surely they were an evil people, transgressors; 74 And We admitted him into Our mercy. Indeed, he was of the righteous. 75
