The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 And the breath of morning 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 where then are you going? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
