A group of his people who disbelieved him and had called the Day of Judgment a lie and whom We had made prosperous in this life, said, "He is a mere mortal like you. He eats and drinks as you do. 33 And if you obey a mortal like yourselves, then most surely you will be losers: 34 Doth he promise you that you, when ye are dead and have become dust and bones, will (again) be brought forth? 35 ۞ Begone, begone, with that which ye are promised! 36 There is nought but our life of the world; we die and we live, and we are not going to be raised up. 37 “He is just a man who has fabricated a lie against Allah, and we are not going to believe him.” 38 He said: My Lord! Help me because they deny me. 39 God said, "Before long they will be filled with regret." 40 Then the Blast overtook them with justice, and We made them as rubbish of dead leaves (floating on the stream of Time)! So away with the people who do wrong! 41 Then after them We brought forth other generations. 42 No nation can outstrip its term, nor yet postpone it. 43 Then We sent Our messengers in succession. Every time there came to a nation its messenger, they denied him, so We made them follow one another [to destruction], and We made them narrations. So away with a people who do not believe. 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our signs and clear authority 45 unto Pharaoh and his great ones; but these behaved with arrogance, for they were people wont to glorify [only] themselves. 46 They said, "Are we to believe in two human beings like ourselves, while their people are subject to us?" 47 So they rejected them, calling them liars, and they too eventually became of those that were destroyed. 48 We gave the Book to Moses so that perhaps they may have guidance. 49 We made the son of Mary and his mother a sign, and gave them a refuge on a hillside where there was a hollow and a spring. 50
