The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
