Al-Taareq

The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful

By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 It is the shining star -- 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 So let man consider from what he is created. 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
