The Town (Al-Balad)

20 verses, revealed in Mecca after Q (Qaaf) before The Comet (Al-Taareq)

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

۞ No! I swear by this land, 1 And thou art an indweller of this city - 2 or by the great father and his wonderful son (Abraham and Ishmael) 3 Assuredly We have created man in trouble. 4 Does he think that no one has power over him? 5 He shall say: I have wasted much wealth. 6 Does he think that no one sees him? 7 Did We not make two eyes for him? 8 a tongue, and two lips? 9 And showed him two highways (of good and evil)? 10 Yet he attempteth not the steep, 11 And what can make you know what is [breaking through] the difficult pass? 12 The freeing of a slave, 13 Or the giving of food in a day of hunger 14 To the orphan with claims of relationship, 15 or to a destitute lying in dust; 16 And to be of those who believe, and urge upon one another to persevere, and urge upon each other to be kind. 17 These are the people of the right. 18 But those who disbelieve Our revelations, their place will be on the left hand. 19 who will be engulfed in the fire. 20

Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
