Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Has the news of the overwhelming event reached you? 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 Working [hard] and exhausted. 3 (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. 4 and will be made to drink from a fiercely boiling spring. 5 No food for them save bitter thorn-fruit 6 Which will neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 In that day other faces will be calm, 8 Well-pleased because of their striving, 9 in a Garden on high, 10 Where they hear no idle speech, 11 Wherein is a gushing spring, 12 Therein are thrones raised high, 13 And cups put in place 14 and arranged cushions 15 and carpets spread out. 16 So do they not see the camel – how it has been created? 17 and on the sky, how it is raised aloft, 18 and on the mountains, how they are firmly set up, 19 And the earth: how it was spread out? 20 Remind them, for thou art but a remembrancer, 21 thou art not charged to oversee them. 22 But if any turn away and reject Allah,- 23 Allah will chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 To Us is surely their returning; 25 and then it is for Us to call them to account. 26
