A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Alif Lam Mim Sad. 1 (This is the) Book (the Quran) sent down unto you (O Muhammad SAW), so let not your breast be narrow therefrom, that you warn thereby, and a reminder unto the believers. 2 O mankind, follow what has been sent down to you from your Lord, and do not follow other administrators, abandoning this (the Holy Qur’an); very little do you understand. 3 How many a township have We destroyed! As a raid by night, or while they slept at noon, Our terror came unto them. 4 When (thus) Our punishment took them, no cry did they utter but this: "Indeed we did wrong." 5 Then surely, We shall question those (people) to whom it (the Book) was sent and verily, We shall question the Messengers. 6 Then We will surely relate [their deeds] to them with knowledge, and We were not [at all] absent. 7 And the weighing will be just on that Day. Then those whose (deeds) are heavier in the balance will find fulfilment, 8 And whosesoever balances will be light - those are they who have lost themselves in respect of Our signs. 9 We established you in the land and provided you with a means of livelihood there: yet you are seldom thankful. 10
