The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By heaven of the constellations, 1 by the promised day, 2 And by the witnessing day (i.e. Friday), and by the witnessed day [i.e. the day of 'Arafat (Hajj) the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah]; 3 may the people be condemned those who tortured (the believers) in ditches 4 Full of fire fed by faggots, 5 They sat by it 6 fully conscious of what they are doing to the believers, 7 They had no other reason for hating them except that they believed in God the mighty, worthy of praise, 8 to whom belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and earth. And Allah is the Witness of all things. 9 Those who persecute (or draw into temptation) the Believers, men and women, and do not turn in repentance, will have the Penalty of Hell: They will have the Penalty of the Burning Fire. 10 Verily, those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them will be Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise). That is the great success. 11 The vengeance of God is terribly severe. 12 It is He who creates all things and causes them to return. 13 And He is the Forgiving, and the Loving. 14 in sublime almightiness enthroned, 15 Doer (without let) of all that He intends. 16 Hast thou received the story of the hosts, 17 of Pharaoh, and of [the tribe of] Thamud? 18 The unbelievers are indeed engaged in denying it, calling it a lie, 19 God encompasses them from all sides. 20 Nay, but it is a glorious Koran, 21 in a Guarded Tablet. 22
