The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 And the day when it shines in brightness, 2 And Him who created the male and female, 3 surely your strivings are divergent. 4 So for one who gave and practised piety 5 and confirms the reward most fair, 6 We shall surely ease him to the Path of Easing; 7 And as for him who stinteth and is heedless, 8 And rejects goodness, 9 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Misery; 10 When he falls (into Hell), his wealth will not help him. 11 Indeed guiding is upon Us. 12 And verify Ours is both the Hereafter and the life present. 13 and so I warn you of the raging fire 14 None shall enter it save the most wretched, 15 Who denies and turns away. 16 Far removed from it will be the righteous 17 he that spends his possessions [on others] so that he might grow in purity 18 And not [giving] for anyone who has [done him] a favor to be rewarded 19 But only the desire to seek for the Countenance of their Lord Most High; 20 and before long he will be well satisfied. 21
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
