A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Alif-Lam-Mim-Sad. 1 A Book revealed unto thee,- So let thy heart be oppressed no more by any difficulty on that account,- that with it thou mightest warn (the erring) and teach the Believers). 2 Follow what has been revealed to you by your Lord, and do not follow any other lord apart from Him. Yet little do you care to remember. 3 And how many a [rebellious] community have We destroyed, with Our punishment coming upon it by night, or while they were resting at noontide! 4 No plea had they, when Our terror came unto them, save that they said: Lo! We were wrong-doers. 5 We will question those to whom Our Message was sent, as We shall question the Messengers. 6 So indeed We shall inform them with Our knowledge and We were not absent. 7 And true will be the weighing on that Day; and those whose weight [of good deeds] is heavy in the balance - it is they, they who shall attain to a happy state; 8 And those whose scales are light - they are the ones who will lose themselves for what injustice they were doing toward Our verses. 9 We assuredly established you in the earth and arranged for your livelihood in it. Little do you give thanks. 10
