Al-Hijjr 4 of 6
Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in the midst of gardens and fountains: 45 (Their greeting will be): "Enter ye here in peace and security." 46 We shall cleanse their hearts of all traces of ill-will; they will be like brethren seated on couches facing one another. 47 No fatigue will touch them nor will they be expelled therefrom." 48 ۞ Tell My servants I am the All-forgiving, the All-compassionate, 49 and that My punishment is a painful one. 50 Tell them about the guests of Abraham. 51 When they entered upon him, they said, Peace. He said: Surely we are afraid of you. 52 [The angels] said, "Fear not. Indeed, we give you good tidings of a learned boy." 53 He said, "Do you bring me such news despite my old age? What kind of good news are you bringing me?" 54 They (the angels) said: "We give you glad tidings in truth. So be not of the despairing ones." 55 He said: "And who despairs of the mercy of his Lord, but such as go astray?" 56 He asked: 'Messengers, what is your errand' 57 They said: "Verily we have been sent to a guilty people 58 "Excepting the adherents of Lut: them we are certainly (charged) to save (from harm),- All - 59 excepting only his wife, [of whom God says,] 'We have ordained [that,] behold, she should be among those who stay behind!' 60

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
