When the messengers came to the family of Lot, 61 he said, "You seem to be strangers". 62 They replied, "We have come to you about the matter which the (unbelievers) have rejected. 63 And we have brought unto thee the truth, and verily we say sooth. 64 “Therefore journey with your household while a portion of the night remains, and you tread behind them – and none of you may turn around and see, and proceed directly to the place you are commanded to.” 65 And We decreed unto him this commandment because the last of those was to be cut off in the early morning. 66 The people of the town rejoicingly 67 He said, “These are my guests – do not dishonour me.” 68 "But fear Allah, and shame me not." 69 They (people of the city) said: "Did we not forbid you to entertain (or protect) any of the 'Alamin (people, foreigners, strangers, etc. from us)?" 70 He said, “These women of our tribe are my daughters, if you have to.” 71 Verily, by your life (O Muhammad SAW), in their wild intoxication, they were wandering blindly. 72 And thereupon the blast [of Our punishment] overtook them at the time of sunrise, 73 We laid it (the city) upside down and rained stones of baked clay upon them. 74 In this there is evidence (of the Truth) for the prudent ones. 75 And indeed, those cities are [situated] on an established road. 76 Lo! therein is indeed a portent for believers. 77 And the people of Aykah were also wrong-doers. 78 and so We inflicted Our retribution on them. And behold, both these [sinful communities] lived by a highway, [to this day] plain to see 79
