At length when the messengers arrived among the adherents of Lut, 61 He said: verily ye are a people stranger. 62 They said, 'Nay, but we have brought thee that concerning which they were doubting. 63 "And we have brought to you the truth (the news of the destruction of your nation) and certainly, we tell the truth. 64 Go, then, with thy household while it is yet night, with thyself following them in the rear; and let none of you look back, but proceed whither you are bidden." 65 And We conveyed to him [the decree] of that matter: that those [sinners] would be eliminated by early morning. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. 67 and he told them, "These are my guests, so do not disgrace me. 68 “And fear Allah and do not disgrace me.” 69 They (people of the city) said: "Did we not forbid you to entertain (or protect) any of the 'Alamin (people, foreigners, strangers, etc. from us)?" 70 He said: Here are my daughters, if ye must be doing (so). 71 By your life O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) – they are indeed straying in their intoxication. 72 And thereupon the blast [of Our punishment] overtook them at the time of sunrise, 73 And We made the highest part [of the city] its lowest and rained upon them stones of hard clay. 74 Surely! In this are signs, for those who see (or understand or learn the lessons from the Signs of Allah). 75 The place (where this occurred) lies along a known route. 76 Verily there is a Sign in this for the believers. 77 The people of the Wood were also surely wrongdoers. 78 and We took vengeance on them. The two of them were upon a roadway manifest. 79
