He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Prophet frowned and turned away 1 Because a blind man came to him. 2 And what would make you know that he would purify himself, 3 Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him? 4 As for he who is sufficed 5 to him thou attendest 6 What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah). 7 As for the one who comes to you earnestly (striving for guidance). 8 and in awe of God 9 him didst thou disregard! 10 No indeed; this is only a Reminder. 11 and whosoever wills, shall remember it. 12 [It is recorded] in honored sheets, 13 Exalted, pure. 14 by the hands of scribes 15 noble, pious. 16 May (the disbelieving) human being be condemned! What makes him disbelieve? 17 Out of what did Allah create him? 18 From a sperm-drop He created him and destined for him; 19 and then makes it easy for him to go through life; 20 Then He causes him to die, then assigns to him a grave, 21 Then when He pleases, He will raise him to life again. 22 Nay, but (man) hath not done what He commanded him. 23 Then let man look at his food, 24 We poured out the rains abundantly, 25 And We split the earth in clefts, 26 And caused to grow within it grain 27 And grapes and fodder, 28 And olives and date-palms, 29 and gardens dense with foliage, 30 and fruit and pastures, 31 for you and for your herds to delight in. 32 But when the deafening cry comes, 33 on that Day each person will flee from his brother, 34 his mother, his father, 35 and his consort and his children; 36 Each one of them, that Day, will have enough concern (of his own) to make him indifferent to the others. 37 On that day faces will be bright as dawn, 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news. 39 And [other] faces, that Day, will have upon them dust. 40 Dust shall cover them 41 These will be the unbelievers, the wicked. 42
God the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: He Frowned ('Abasa). Sent down in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
