Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The Reality (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)! 1 What is the Inevitable Hour? 2 And what shall make thee know that which the Inevitable Calamity is. 3 Thamood and Ad cried lies to the Clatterer. 4 As for Thamood, they were destroyed by the Screamer; 5 and the Ad were destroyed by a furiously raging wind-storm 6 Which He made to prevail against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you might have seen the people therein prostrate as if they were the trunks of hollow palms. 7 So do you see any survivor among them? 8 And Pharaoh and those before him, and the communities that were destroyed, brought error, 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's Messenger, so He punished them with a strong punishment. 10 When the water rose in flood, We bore you in the ark, 11 so that We might make all this a [lasting] reminder to you all, and that every wide-awake ear might consciously take it in. 12 When a single blow is blown on the Horn, 13 And the earth and the mountains are borne away and crushed with a single crushing. 14 Then on that Day, the Resurrection will occur, 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for it will that Day be flimsy, 16 The angels will stand on all its sides. And on that Day, eight (of them) will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that day ye will be exposed; not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 Those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their right hands will say, "Come and read my record. 19 Surely, I knew that I should meet my reckoning," 20 So he shall be in a life, well-pleasing. 21 In a lofty garden, 22 with its fruits within easy reach. 23 (And it will be said unto those therein): Eat and drink at ease for that which ye sent on before you in past days. 24 But whosoever gets his ledger in his left hand, will say: "Would that I were never given my ledger, 25 Nor that I knew my reckoning! 26 Oh! Would that the death that came to me in the world had made an end of me! 27 My wealth hath not availed me, 28 I am bereft of power." 29 The angels will be told, "Seize and chain them, 30 Then cast him into the burning fire, 31 Then thrust him into a chain the length of which is seventy cubits. 32 “Indeed he refused to accept faith in Allah, the Greatest.” 33 nor would he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 so today he has no friend here, 35 Nor any food except filth from the washing of wounds, 36 that none but sinners eat' 37
