And when thy Lord called to Moses, 'Go to the people of the evildoers, 10 the people of Pharaoh; will they not be godfearing?' 11 He said, 'My Lord, I fear they will cry me lies, 12 And my breast straiteneth, and my tongue moveth not quickly: so send for Harun. 13 "And (further), they have a charge of crime against me; and I fear they may slay me." 14 He said: 'Never so, go both of you with Our signs; We shall be with you, listening 15 go both to Pharaoh and both of you say to him: 'We are (each) a Messenger from the Lord of all the Worlds. 16 "So allow the Children of Israel to go with us.' " 17 Pharaoh said to Moses, "Did we not bring you up among us as a child? And you spent several years of your life with us. 18 And thou didst that thy deed which thou didst; and thou art of the ingrates. 19 Moses replied, "I did that when I was one of the misguided, 20 Then I fled from you when I feared you, and my Lord vouchsafed me a command and appointed me (of the number) of those sent (by Him). 21 Is this then the blessing with which you reproach me, that you have the Children of Israel for worshipers' 22 Pharaoh said: 'And what is the Lord of the Worlds' 23 Moses replied, "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if you want to be certain". 24 Said [Pharaoh] unto those around him: "Did you hear [what he said]?" 25 He said, 'Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients' 26 Said Firaun, “This (Noble) Messenger of yours, who has been sent towards you, has no intelligence!” 27 He said: Lord of the East and the West and all that is between them, if ye did but understand. 28 [Pharaoh] said, "If you take a god other than me, I will surely place you among those imprisoned." 29 'What, even if I brought you something clear' said he (Moses). 30 [Pharaoh] answered: "Produce it, then, if thou art a man of truth!" 31 (No sooner had he said this than) Moses threw down his rod and behold, it was a veritable serpent, 32 And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white for the observers. 33
